Vintage pocket watch and wristwatch parts, rescued copper, recycled leather, repurposed blown light bulb, light fixture, computer case screws, copper foil.
When the bulb in my shed blew after ten years of faithful service, my mind turned to how it could live on in it’s “retirement”. After carefully operating to disembowel it, I had the idea of placing a dragon within, rather like those ships in bottles. This meant creating a beast that could unfurl once inserted, looking like it was too big to get inside the limited space. I’m happy with the result, and whilst it doesn’t show in the photo, there’s even carbon on the inside glass, looking like soot from dragon breath ( really the result of the filament burning out, but hey!)
